Work with Us, Contact Us

Pag-asa means hope in Filipino. We hope to uplift people regardless of legal status or income level to feel accepted, respected, secured and liberated from fear, social stigma, and oppression to the best of our abilities. Pag-asa Law Clinic (PLC) hopes to contribute to this vision by providing community access to legal services. If we cannot be of service to you, we will refer you!

The Process

Transparency is important to us. Here is how we do it!

  • Requirement
The Legal Intern must be a current law student who possesses superb research and writing skills, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to PLC constituents. Bilingual skills are a plus, especially Tagalog, since PLC has targeted the Filipino community as an underserved community. Candidates are selected according to the needs of the law clinic, as well as the interests and skill sets of the interns.
  • Commitment
Students volunteering must commit a minimum of 10 hours per week to PLC. All students participate in a required orientation and training workshop prior to the beginning of each internship session. Although our internships are unpaid, many schools offer work study, unit credit, etc.
  • Timeline
We accept students for the following sessions/semesters: Fall – August through December (Deadline to apply: September 15) Spring – January through May (Deadline to apply: December 15) Summer – June through August (Deadline to apply: May 15)
